St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store

Everything we sell is donated (except mattresses). We are grateful to be located in such a generous community!

In general, we accept any items that are clean and in good condition. We’re also happy to accept new items. We sell a wide variety of merchandise.

Items that are always in demand include dishes/bowls, cutlery, pots and pans, working microwaves and toaster ovens.

Donation Centre

Our Donation Centre is located along the side of the store towards Freshco beside Massage Addict.

Monday – Saturday

9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

We ask that you respect our hours and only bring items when we are open.

Financial Gifts

As a charity, the Cambridge SSVP Particular Council also accepts financial donations to help the local Conferences help people and keep the store operational including to provide free delivery to OW and ODSP clients.

Bedding

Our greatest need is bedding especially for single and double beds such as sheet sets, blankets and comforters. We sell many inexpensive bed sets including hundreds to our community partners for people who may not even have a bed. Whenever requested, we provide our partners clients sheets at no cost to go with the bed.

Clothing

We get lots of clothes. We prefer if they are in “ready to wear” condition meaning that they are clean without any rips, stains and have all buttons and working zippers.

Our greatest needs are winter coats and men’s clothing so we can offer a greater selection. Items for infants and children are also always needed.

Supplies for Unhoused People

When homeless people come in, we like to have new underwear, socks and shoes and hygiene products. We also keep a stock of items such as blankets, backpacks, sleeping bags, air mattresses and tents.

Furniture

We’re interested in a wide variety of furniture. Since we have limited room to display or store it, we need it to be in good condition (no tears, stains or pet damage and smoke free). We prefer those we know sell quickly.

Furniture we need the most are:

• Dressers
• Kitchen tables with chairs
• Couches (2 and 3 seats)
• Recliners
• Coffee tables, end tables and night tables

When we schedule pickups of large items, we give priority to these items.

We may pick up appliances if they are working.

We do not pickup or sell used mattresses, box springs, futons or sofa beds. Nor do we pick up large heavy items such as pianos.

Sorry! Not accepted

There are a number of items that we do not accept. We politely decline to accept these and other items:

• Plastic containers
• Plastic toys or stuffed animals
• Text books and encyclopedias
• VHS and cassette tapes | 45s
• Paints, auto parts, propane tanks, construction materials, etc.
• Mirrors without frames
• Hazardous materials

We reserve the right to refuse any items.
